eBusinessReady™ Certifies Largest Group of Vendors for AS2 EDI/XML Interoperability
eBusinessReady-Certified Solutions Solve Business Needs of Wal-Mart and Others Who Request Suppliers Use AS2 Software
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — May 5, 2004 –
eBusinessReady™, an industry-neutral software testing program under joint partnership of the Uniform Code Council, Inc. (UCC) and Drummond Group Inc. (DGI), today announced that 35 software products from 30 U.S. and internationally-based companies successfully passed interoperability testing for AS2 (Applicability Statement 2) specifications. AS2 is a specification standard that enables users to connect, deliver, and reply to data securely and reliably over the Internet. This test round demonstrates the worldwide growth and acceptance of the AS2 standard with the largest group of participants since the eBusinessReady program’s inception.
Companies from the United States, France, Germany, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Spain and Singapore whose products passed the AS2 first quarter 2004 interoperability test include: Boomi, Inc., bTrade, Inc., Cleo Communications, Covast, Cyclone Commerce, EDICOM, EDS, EXTOL International, Global eXchange Services, Inc., Grand Central Communications, GridNode, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM, ILLICOM, INFLUE, Inovis, Inc., iSoft Corporation, iWay Software, LANSA, Micro*D – Exim Technologies, /n software, inc., Oracle Corporation, SAA Consultants Ltd., SeeBeyond, SEEBURGER AG, Sterling Commerce, TIBCO Software, Inc., Trailblazer Systems Inc., Transentric LLC, and webMethods, Inc.
An eBusinessReady-certified product enables vertical and horizontal compliance and interoperability across the supply chain and distribution channels. Companies underwent testing to demonstrate that their AS2 EDI/XML messaging software products complied with a common level of interoperability. This allows them to effectively communicate with other eBusiness solutions, facilitating efficient trading partner relationships and reducing the costs of transmitting critical business data.
U.S.-based retailer Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. is among several retailers that recommend suppliers use an eBusinessReady-certified AS2 software solution to electronically transmit data to its systems.
“Internet technologies such as AS2 have opened doors to new, faster methodologies for
business data communication that provide data security and integrity,” says Bruce Hawkins, Senior Strategy Architect for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. “Wal-Mart endorses EDIINT AS2 as the best solution for secure data communication over the Internet. AS2 solutions certified by eBusinessReady have created a window of opportunity to lower the cost of communication. Expensive modems and high phone bills are things of the past, replaced by secure, Internet-based communication.”
